Oh Canada?

In the course of any given year, Mike and I speak with dozens of new clients about their experience with investing. Inevitably, these clients have spent the majority of their investment horizon with most of their money parked close to home. That is, these clients have been advised for many years, by a variety of Advisors, to keep the majority of their funds invested in Canadian stocks. For certain, investors have done well by heeding this advice over the past decade, at least relative to investors south of the 49th parallel. However, over the past 25 years, investors in Canadian stocks have lagged investors in U.S. stocks by over 1% per year.
